On November 6, the High Anti-Corruption Court imposed a pre-trial restraint on another defendant in the Carthage case — Oleksandr Demianchuk, deputy head of a department in the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv region. He was remanded in custody without possibility of bail.

This was reported by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) and the Center for Combating Corruption (CCC).

According to the court ruling, Demianchuk will remain in custody until January 2, 2027. In the investigation materials he is referred to under the alias "Consultant".

According to the investigation, the police officer is suspected of participating in a criminal organization, aiding in torture committed by a state official, as well as manufacturing and distributing counterfeit money.

The Center for Combating Corruption noted that journalists were not notified in advance about the court hearing where Demianchuk's pre-trial restraint was being decided.

As a reminder, on November 4, NABU and SAPO announced the exposure of a criminal organization whose members, according to the investigation, systematically bribed high-ranking law enforcement officers to cover up fraudulent call centers and other illegal business. As part of a new episode of the Carthage operation, five people were notified of suspicion, including SBU and National Police officers.

Earlier, the HACC imposed a pre-trial restraint on another defendant in the case — Volodymyr Tsenov, First Deputy Head of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police. The court set bail at 15 million hryvnias, which was posted on November 6.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The guilt of the suspects can only be established by a court conviction.
