On November 6, vehicle traffic on the Southern Bridge across the Dnipro River in Kyiv was expanded. An additional lane was opened in the direction from the left to the right bank, allowing cars to now travel in two lanes instead of one.
This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).
Travel in two lanes is allowed for vehicles weighing up to 10 tons, as well as for surface public transport.
At the same time, in the opposite direction, from the right to the left bank, the traffic pattern remains unchanged. Cars can still use only one lane. Weight restrictions for vehicles remain in force.
As a reminder, on October 30, car traffic began to be restored on the Southern Bridge after damage caused by Russian attacks. Initially, passage was opened in one lane in the direction from the left to the right bank. Subsequently, traffic was also resumed in the opposite direction.
The opening of the additional lane is the next stage in restoring transport connections across the Dnipro River. Drivers are asked to take into account the current temporary traffic management scheme when planning their routes.
