Russian troops attacked an energy infrastructure facility in the Zhytomyr community on the evening of November 6. As a result of the strike, the situation with electricity supply deteriorated not only in Zhytomyr but also in Kyiv, where water supply pressure also dropped.

This was reported by the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Bunechko and Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.

According to Bunechko, the Russian attack targeted an energy infrastructure facility in the Zhytomyr community. Repair crews are working at the scene, assessing the extent of damage to the equipment and determining the necessary measures to restore power supply.

The head of the regional military administration noted that the exact timing of repairs is still unknown. It will be possible to announce them after an expert assessment of the condition of the damaged equipment.

The consequences of the attack also affected the capital. As reported by Vitaliy Klitschko, due to damage to the energy facility in Zhytomyr, Kyiv's power supply deteriorated.

"Due to the damage to the energy facility in Zhytomyr, the situation with the capital's energy supply has worsened. And the pressure in Kyiv's water supply system has decreased," — said the mayor.

To maintain the operation of the water supply system, specialists from "Kyivvodokanal" are switching equipment to backup power from generators at those stations where there is such technical capability.

At the time of the reports, the authorities did not specify which districts of the capital experienced reduced water pressure and how many consumers were affected by the new power outages.

The new attack occurred against the backdrop of a difficult situation in Ukraine's power system. Earlier on November 6, Ukrenergo reported an increase in emergency outages in Kyiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy regions.

In Zhytomyr, due to the consequences of previous Russian strikes, additional electricity-saving measures are already in effect, including restrictions on the operation of electric transport and street lighting.

There is no information yet on the timing of full restoration of the damaged energy facility.
