NBU sets rules for interbank payment tracking service
The National Bank of Ukraine has regulated the operation of the TrackSEP service, which allows tracking the processing of interbank payments through the Electronic Payment System.
According to the new rules, SEP participants must transmit information about the status of a payment transaction to the system processing center. The data must be sent as soon as possible after each stage of payment execution, but no later than one hour after the relevant status is established.
In addition, banks and other payment service providers must provide clients with the ability to remotely request information about the transaction status. The user must be shown the stages of payment processing received from TrackSEP.
Thanks to the service, the payer and the recipient of the funds will be able to track the entire chain of transaction execution—from its initiation to the crediting of the money. TrackSEP operates around the clock and covers payments made through the NBU Electronic Payment System.
At the same time, the service does not contain information about card, intrabank, and other transactions that are carried out outside SEP.
The changes were approved by NBU Board Resolution No. 85 dated August 5, 2026. The main provisions came into effect on August 7.
The requirements for remote request and provision to clients of information about the stages of payment processing will come into effect on January 1, 2027.
