Passengers of Ukrzaliznytsia who, due to train delays, were unable to make their planned boarding, can arrange a full refund of the ticket price. A claim refund service is available for such cases.

This was announced by Ukrzaliznytsia on the evening of August 27 against the backdrop of significant changes in the train schedule due to Russian attacks and air threats.

“If, due to train delays, you were unable to board, you can use the claim refund service, and we will refund the full cost of your ticket,” — the company said.

How to get a ticket refund

A refund can be arranged remotely through the official Ukrzaliznytsia website. To do this, you need to open the “Services” section and select the “Claim ticket refund” service.

After that, the passenger needs to fill out an electronic application, indicating the ticket number, personal data, and bank account details to which the funds should be transferred.

Photos or scanned copies of documents confirming the reason for the refund must also be attached to the application. The application can be submitted online, confirming it with an electronic signature via “Diia.Signature”.

Claim refund differs from the usual automatic ticket refund. It is used, in particular, in situations where the trip did not take place due to circumstances that require additional consideration by the carrier.

Ukrzaliznytsia clarified that the current clarification concerns passengers who were unable to use their ticket due to delays caused by the consequences of Russian shelling and changes in train traffic.

Earlier, the company also temporarily made all paid waiting lounges at Ukrainian stations free until the morning of August 28 due to train schedule deviations.
