Shmyhal reveals details of agreements on Germany's support in energy sector
Ukraine's Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal spoke about the details of financial and energy agreements with Germany following a visit by Chancellor Friedrich Merz and his delegation to Kyiv, according to Eurointegration.
Shmyhal wrote about this on Telegram, reports "European Pravda".
In particular, Germany has contributed more than 557 million euros to the Energy Support Fund. This was discussed at a meeting between Shmyhal and Germany's Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Katharina Reiche.
"With the newly announced assistance, which we expect to receive in the near future, the country's total contribution will exceed 800 million euros. We are interested in joint projects in distributed and flexible generation, energy storage, modernization of power grids and substations, gas infrastructure, and protection of critical facilities", Shmyhal wrote.
Regarding gas security, the ministers discussed LNG supplies through German infrastructure and involvement of European companies in operating Ukrainian gas storage facilities.
Germany also announced its intention to allocate 50 million euros for the restoration of the "Shelter" object at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
"We separately discussed Ukrainian expertise in constructing protective shelters at energy facilities. We are ready to cooperate with German colleagues on developing new technical solutions", the energy minister added.
In addition, Shmyhal invited German partners to take part in the EBRD donor conference in Paris on November 9.
