For Friday, November 6, the National Bank set the following official rates: - US dollar – 45.4432 UAH (-0.0943 UAH to the official rate for Thursday, November 5); - euro – 51.0406 UAH (-0.2083 UAH to the official rate for Thursday, November 5).
Rates are set at 15:30 on November 5 and reflect the following trends:
1. The first half of the trading session on Thursday, November 5, passed in a narrow range of 45.46-45.50 UAH. Buyers reduced activity, which allowed the National Bank to easily keep the non-cash dollar rate in a narrow range. The average deal price at 12:00 was 45.4854 UAH – 7 kopecks lower than on Wednesday. After 13:00, the National Bank conducted another currency intervention, as a result of which the non-cash dollar rate dropped to 45.32 UAH on the bid side. By the close of trading, the average price declined even more, so the NBU lowered the official dollar rate for Friday by 9.4 kopecks.
2. The euro on the international FOREX market on Thursday tried to continue the growth that began the previous day on Wednesday after it became known about the crushing victory of Democrats in the midterm elections to the US Congress. However, by the time of writing, the euro lost all gains and dropped to the morning low of 1.12128 dollars. At the time of fixing, the euro was sold at 1.12317 dollars – 22.5 points lower than on Wednesday (1.12542). Therefore, in parallel with the lowering of the official dollar rate, the NBU also lowered the official euro rate for Friday by almost 21 kopecks.
As we can see, the efforts of the National Bank have led to the fact that after the fall, the hryvnia is again strengthening on the interbank foreign exchange market against the dollar and the euro.
